Stone Music: a New Zealand sequence, has been described as "one of the most inspired collaborations ever to grace the Australian arts scene".

It is an elegant volume of twenty-seven poems by Lynne Strahan and fifty-five full colour plates of paintings by Brian Dunlop.

The poetry and the paintings are two separate bodies of work which together form a uniquely integrated response to the power and beauty of New Zealand's South Island.

Stone Music is a meditation on the relationship between the individual and nature. The synergy of word and image embraces the solitary wilderness of the New Zealand landscape, from the power of the Clutha River to the fragility of the Mount Cook lily.
