Lynne Strahan is a
poet, historian, short story writer and gardener. She was born
in New Zealand and came to Australia as a child. She
has published a number of books ranging from Australian history
to poety, biographies and a book for children.
A 'first-time' return
to New Zealand lead to her latest publication; Stone Music: a New
Zealand sequence.
Lynne's work in
progress is a "series of reflections on the nature and
meaning of the garden". Yet to be titled, the book is due for
release by Penguin Books Australia during November, 2002.
Lynne has a doctorate
in history from the University of Melbourne and was awarded a post-doctoral
fellowship.
She has three adult
sons from her first marriage and is now married to artist Brian
Dunlop. She lives at Rugosa Studio, Port Fairy on the south-western
coast of Victoria, Australia.
